The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) big win against the Left Front in Tripura is attributed to various reasons, chief among them being the promise to implement Seventh Pay Commission in the state.

State government employees in Tripura continue to draw salaries on the basis of the Fourth Pay Commission. This is in contrast to Central government employees who are now getting salaries on the basis of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations.

Minister for Medical Education Sharanprakash Patil has said that the State government is likely to soon announce the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission that would revise the pay-scale of six lakh State government employees.

A large number of angry Rajasthan government employees have planned a massive protests in districts headquarters across the state on December 13, when the Vasundhara Raje government celebrates four years in office, to press their demands, including implementation of 7th Pay Commission from January 1, 2016, instead of January 2017.
