7th Pay Commission: Will employees hear a good news by April 2018?

Nearly two years have passed and central government employees are still waiting for their pay scale and fitment factor hike.
However, their prays may soon be heard this year, as Union Finance Ministry has reportedly set a panel that may take a final call on demands of these employees by April this year.
It is being expected that the promises made by FM Arun Jaitley on fitment factor and pay scale to lower-level employees may also come to a reality.

In a good news for central government employees, the Narendra Modi government is considering increasing the salary of low-level officials, from matrix level 1 to 5 and go beyond the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.

7th Pay Commission: No arrears on pay hike to be paid

The Finance Ministry officials involved with the process of pay hike told The Sen Times on condition of anonymity that no arrears on pay hike will be paid to central government employees.

They said, “government is committed towards its responsibilities on Finance Minister’s assurance of raising pay for lower-level employees beyond the suggestion of the 7th Pay Commission, which will be paid from April.”

Junior level central government employees may get salary hike

While the central government has decided to keep the salary of mid and senior level central government employees unchanged, it is considering a proposal to raise the salary of all central government employees whose pay falls within pay matrix level
